Bed and Breakfast : Burnside Croft

Burnside Croft

Burnside is a working croft, close to the famous 3 mile west beach.

Burnside Croft At Burnside Croft we offer traditional island bed and breakfast hospitality.

We have three rooms (1 family, 1 double and 1 twin). The family room has a private bathroom; the other rooms are en-suite.

Listen to Don Alick "Splash" tell stories of his childhood. Don Alick is an entertaining host and story teller - a dyed in the wool crofter - never truly happy far from his island home.

Gloria is his Australian bride: an interesting and interested world traveller. Both are a fund of knowledge about what to do and see during your visit.

Gloria MacKillop baking in the kitchen Don Alick is the third generation of his Gaelic speaking family to reside in Burnside Croft; because of this he can truly speak of a great knowledge of island history, something central to his story telling.

We offer packed lunches, home baking, and home-made bread; much of the food our residents eat is either home-grown or locally harvested.
