Hire of Berneray Community Centre

Berneray Community Centre is available for hire to legitimate concerns. The hall is owned and maintained by Berneray Community Association. It is modern (opened in 1986) and well maintained.

The hall is located in Borve at the point where the houses end and the machair starts. The west beach is a very pleasant 15 minutes walk away across the machair.

Berneray Community Centre

The hall has a fire licence to hold 250 people. The main hall is equipped with various media facilities, including a built-in speaker system. Tables, chairs and other equipment is available.

As well as the main hall, there is a separate smaller meeting room that holds up to 20, and a games room containing a full-sized snooker table. A small annex room contains a PC with Internet facilities.

The walls of the main hall are used to hold a number of contemporary and historical pictures of Berneray.

There are ladies, gents and disabled toilets. A kitchen includes a microwave oven, cooker and fridge.

The hall has been used to hold a wide variety of events, including dances and music evenings, meetings, talks and presentations, visiting shop sales, sales of work, the Berneray Christmas dinner (seating over 100 in one session), sports events and wedding receptions.
