Redeveloping an old blackhouse

Over the past few years, some of the old blackhouses around Berneray have been developed into large homes. Here on Bays Loch, one enterprising family have rebuilt the blackhouse, and added a separate office. Note the lawned roof, a feature commonly found on houses in the Faroe Islands.
