Moving the sheep to summer grazing (1)

Sheep gathered at the harbour

In the summer months, many of the sheep are despatched to a nearby island in the sound of Harris. This gives the sheep new grassland to feed on, and also prevents them from digging up any of the crops planted on the machair.

The first stage involves herding the flock of sheep to the harbour.
