Self-Catering: Borve Cottage

Borve Cottage is a traditional-style house which sits on its own croft in a commanding position overlooking the machair, with great views towards the west beach. This area is one of the best in which to enjoy Berneray's beautiful wild flowers during the summer. It is also the haunt of corncrakes, otters and much other wildlife.

The house is just a few minutes walk from both the cockle beach and the three-mile long west beach.

Borve Cottage can accommodate a maximum of nine people. On the first floor there are three bedrooms, two of which sleep three and one of which is a single. Downstairs there is a further double bedroom and a comfortably furnished living room, complete with flat screen TV and DVD player. The bathroom is situated downstairs and includes a bath and electric shower.

The kitchen/dining room features a gas cooker and all requirements for a week's holiday.

The house has a ramp for disabled access and there is broadband internet access available at the community-owned Nurse's Cottage, just ten minutes walk away.

Rental costs are as follows:
1 October - 31 March: £280 per week
Easter week: £300 per week
April - May: £280 per week
June: £300 per week
July - August: £350 per week
September: £300 per week
Above prices include gas for cooking, but electricity is charged extra on a £1 coin meter.
