Community Hall : Talla Coimhearsnachd
The Hall is located on Berneray at the end of Borve road and is adjacent to the machair. There is ample car parking and the west beach is a very pleasant 15 minutes walk away across the machair.
Berneray Community Hall is available for hire to interested groups. The Hall is owned and maintained by Berneray Community Association. It is a relatively modern building (opened in 1986), and has a variety of facilities available.
The Hall has a fire licence to hold 250 people and is equipped with a built-in speaker system. As well as the main hall there are two meeting rooms which can hold 15-30 people. Tables and chairs and other equipment are available. The main hall has a badminton court laid out and there is also a table tennis table and darts board which can be used.
The walls of the hall are used to display a number of contemporary and historical pictures of Berneray.
The kitchen includes a microwave oven, cooker and fridge. There are ladies, gents and disabled toilets.
The Hall is used to hold a variety of events, including dances, music evenings, meetings, talks and presentations. It is also used for visiting shop sales, elections and sales of work. The Hall hosts Berneray Week, the Berneray Christmas dinner, sports events and wedding receptions.
