John's Bunkhouse - new for 2018 - sleeps eight

The bunkhouse has two single bunkrooms, each accommodating two people, and a double bunkroom for four. It also has two shower rooms, bicycle shed, car parking and good disability access. The kitchen is well equipped and colourful and has a lovely view over the Cockle Beach. The sitting room area has comfortable sofas and a peat stove. Outside, the sheltered yard in front of the house, is a great place to relax.

The bunkhouse is right by a tidal beach where you can swim, collect cockles, launch a kayak or observe our resident colony of wading birds. It is a great base for exploring the islands. From the hill behind, with its ancient standing stone, there are spectacular views over to North Uist, the Sound of Harris and on a good day, St Kilda in the distance.
We welcome individuals, families and groups, the one-night traveller, those who want to stay longer and full house reservations. John’s Bunkhouse is a comfortable retreat all year round. In summer enjoy the long hours of daylight. In winter clear moonlit nights and stormy weather.
