Self-Catering: Lamraig Thatched CottageThis converted thatched cottage has been tastefully furnished with all the comforts required for a simple island holiday. It is the perfect base for walks on the beach, enjoying the bird and wildlife, learning more about Hebridean culture and customs, enjoying our local seafood delicacies, water sports and island hospitality.
Lamraig (Gaelic for landing place) is a traditional marram thatched cottage, set in its own established garden. A two minute walk from the cottage is the beautiful east beach, where you can stroll along white sands, wade in turquoise waters and collect shells, including tiny cowrie. The cottage has been recently refurbished and accommodates four people comfortably with a wood-lined double box bedroom and a twin sleeping platform. The bathroom has a luxurious walk-in shower and traditional cast-iron bath. The kitchen has all the equipment you will require – fridge, hob and oven and is open plan to the living room, with two comfortable sofas, satellite TV and a wood burning stove. With a turf roofed outhouse (separate utility and office) there is plenty of space to dry out laundry or store outdoor kit. Both buildings have under-floor heating and WIFI throughout. Pets are welcome. Weekly prices range from £550 (low season) - £790 (high season).
